MEDICAL PLANTS IN TREATMENT THE FEAR AND RELATED
CHANGES IN SLEEPING IN CHILDREN

The emotional states of the fear and anxiety are part of human existence. An important component in the experience of fear and anxiety is the anticipation of what is going to happen and what could happen. Fear is related to the present, anxiety to the future. Both of them has effects on quality of sleeping, and causes changes in quality of sleeping.

Some classic medicinal plants have been used in treatment of anxiety and fear of recent time.

We analysed effects of: Valerianae radix extractum aeth.; Hyperici herbae extractum fluidum aeth.; Melissae folii extractum fluidum aeth.; Lupuli strobuli extractum fluidum aeth.; Rosmarini folii extractum fluidum aeth (Sedivalâ).

The investigation was carried on 19 children from age 10 to 16. Beginning of investigation was in the second week of war in Yugoslavia.

All children were taking Sedivalâ perorally 30 drops one time a day - before sleeping. On the basis of the obtained results it can be concluded that extracts of medical plants (Sedivalâ) has therapeutic effects to changes of sleeping.
