The following traits: height, number of flower heads, yield of leaf and essential oil, and harvest index, were studied on the four varieties of camomile. The trial was carried out during 1998 and 1999.

Significant effects of variety and year were determined by the analysis of variance. High heritability of the plant height, yield of leaf and essential oil shows the high genetical control of these traits. The highest coefficients of genetic and phenotypic variation were established for yield of leaf. Values for genetic and phenotypic correlations were usually higher.

Key words: camomile, productive traits, variability, heritability, genetic and phenotypic coefficients of variation and correlation's.
