Financial report (summary)

For the organization of the Conference, through donations, sponsorship and payment of registration fees, sum of 31,648.81 DM has been acquired. Bearing in mind that donations and sponsorships from abroad were not recorded at all, acquired amount could be considered as impressive. Sum of all recorded expenses was 27,587.22 DM, so financial result of the Conference could be assumed as positive (4,061.59 DM). Taking into account number of registered participants (152), as well as established registration fees (100 DM) it should be concluded that for each of registered participants Organizer provided 208.22 DM and spent 181.49 DM, meaning covering of such participants with registration fees at the level of 55.10%. Regarding the registration fees, basic idea was to cover expenses necessary for the publishing of Book of Abstracts, Book of Proceedings, name tags, conference bag, and whole spectrum of planed social events.

Figure 1. Basic structure of registration fee expenses

From the data presented in Figure 1 it is rather obvious that the amount reserved for social events (less then 30%) could not be assumed as realistic, but only as one-third of money necessary for covering of all planed operations. From the other side, through the correlation of numbers of registered and unregistered participants (3:1) with the amount for registration fees needed, it is obvious that these fees were (in our conditions) very high. This fact could be useful for better planning of our next conferences, meaning that it would not be reasonable to try to set registration fees for our upcoming regional meetings to more then 100 DM.

Finally, it should be noticed that members of all working bodies of the Conference did their jobs without any financial compensation.
